About Recorded Future

Massive Databases & The Cloud

Many government IT leaders are looking to cloud-based solutions to achieve economies of scale and increase computational power. Most traditional software applications were designed to be run on a single server, or even a cluster of machines, but they are now being retro-fitted in an attempt to support cloud-based architectures. Conversely, Recorded Future was born in the cloud, and is designed for massive scaling. Lead Database Architect Anders Karlsson discusses the challenges of moving databases to the cloud. Anders previously designed databases at MySQL, Sun and Oracle. Around our offices he’s known as Dr. Database. The doctor is in!
